Advance Horsemanship

“For me, it was always a question of how I could get to understand them so much that I would become one of them (part of the herd).”

“I knew this was what I wanted to devote my life to,” “Understanding them enough that I would be able to give them a voice. Improving their quality of life and creating more fun between the human and horse experience by understanding each horse for who they are.”

This dream and hunger for knowledge is what pushed Jessica to go hunt for many equine certifications such as: Trail Riding Guide, Western coach, Western horse trainer, equine vet tech at the age of 19 years old, and what keeps pushing her on this continuing journey.

After coming to the south of NB, Jessica quickly established her place as the person who would work with the horses and their owner, whom no trainer from the area wants to spend time with, on problems that are not <<showring specific>>. “I will not help you win your next reining show; however, when your horse refuses to get in the trailer, that is when you give me a call.”

Those <<Issue>> horses became her fascination. Jessica quickly realized that all those horses all shared something in common; none of those horses wanted to be afraid or nasty toward humans, but because their previous human/trainer had failed to understand their needs, the trust was lost. Leaving the animal confused, afraid, and untrusting of their safety in the presence of a 2 legged creature.

Working with those horses, allowing them the time and space they needed to flourish, and communicating the style of leadership each horse craved to their owner, has become Jessica’s signature.

Her advanced horsemanship practice has helped many horse owners to find the missing pieces in their relationship with their horse, start anew, and finally develop their dream team!

And this could be your story too! It`s never too late!

Her horsemanship program earned her an International certification as an instructor with the International Horsemanship Association.

Behavior of Moving Habits?

In 2017, Jessica started her journey toward another heavy topic:  the understanding of equine biomechanics. Through a diversity of online courses and regular coaching from various instructors, working toward the strengthening of one of her own horses, she quickly realized that moving was a behavior!

Pinpointing repetitive patterns in horses was already one of her forces as she used those patterns to determine a horse’s leadership style. Targeting repetitive movements in motion was like adding a new flavor to what she was already good at.

The discovery she made on the journey of giving her 17-year-old Arabian cross mare a new life was outstanding. A mare who could barely support a kid riding her for 15 minutes became a powerful riding horse who remained strong until her very last days, working toward developing her piaffe in her 24 years of age!

Pinpointing your horse’s moving habits permits you to create his road map. You will know where his strength lies and his body’s weaknesses. The <<Train Smarter>> program has proven effective by seeing fantastic results as fast as within the first 4 weeks of using it!

The program will label your horse’s natural movement and give you monthly strengthening and/or suppleness exercises that will set you and your horse up for success from the ground to riding.

The train smarter program was created to offer the knowledge in a digestible way, without the confusing use of <<big words>> and without needing specific equipment or installation. What you have at home is probably enough!

“Some of the most outstanding changes I have seen came from working on static exercises! There is no need for a 200×300 indoor arena.”

One of Jessica’s latest certifications is with the International Horsemanship Foundation as certified Instructor, however, as a continual student of the horse, many more certifications have been checked on her list:

  • Equine Canada Western Coach
  • Single-horse cart driving
  • Certified Trail Guide
  • Equine Specialist for Mental Health Therapy
